We are Carol & Jim from Sunderland in the North-East of England. We have owned bullmastiffs for the past 14 years now, having had German Shepherds before that, we fell in love with our first bullmastiff bitch, and became totally hooked on this magnificent breed. When we lost our German Shepherd, some 15 years ago, we were all set to get another German Sherpherd, friends of ours were breeding their Bullmastiff, and asked us to go and meet their two bullie bitches. We fell in love with them. Before deciding this was deffinetly the breed for us, we purchased several Bullmastiff books, and spent some time studying the breed. We have never looked back since. We currently own six bullmastiffs, three males and three females.
All of our bullmastiffs are obedience trained, a must we believe for such a large powerful breed, and also because one of our main priority's is to ensure all of our bullmastiffs are happy and well balance individual's. A lot of our time is spent devoted to attending various training clubs, to make sure our bullmastiffs are well socialised from a very early age. We are firm believers in the old saying " a trained dog is a happy dog" . Jim has been training dogs in obedience for the past 28 years since he was 14 years old, so dog training has nearly always played a part in his life. Jim also runs a weekly community training class in obedience & socialisation.
We are committee members of Newbottle ringcraft club & Sunderland & District Canine Society. We are also members of three Bullmastiff Breed clubs. Our Bullies keep us very busy indeed, but we couldn't immagine our life without them. The showing comes second place. Win or lose we love our bullies just the same.
We are members of the kennel clubs accredited breeders scheme. Occasionally we have puppies available to genuine, responsible homes. All our breeding stock are BVA/KC Hip scored, DNA profiled and routinely checked over with our vets prior to breeding.
